Preparing meals as a group at FUMC

Making a meal for 50 people on the second Thursday of the month at FUMC to deliver 

to support formerly homeless people organize to become self-sustaining

A team of 4-6 people could sign up to do this in the FUMC kitchen and bring it to Everyone Village, Janisse St, and Wallis St off of Bailey Hill Rd., Eugene

Make a meal for Hosea Youth Center on the Second Sunday of the month from 11:30-12 pm.

A team of 4- 6 can prepare a meal at FUMC to deliver to Hosea Youth Center for Homeless Youth in our area.

Preparing meals at the Dining Room Downtown

Volunteer with your FUMC family to serve at the Dining Room on 8th and Lincoln St. This is run by Food for Lane County.

We are filling the volunteer positions for the 3rd Monday of the month. We need 4 people for the 9:30-11:30 am shift, for food prep. We also need 6 people for the 11-1 pm shift, to serve and wash pots and pans.

Serving our communities is a core value of who we are at the First United Methodist Church of Eugene.  We have opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to make a difference in the world... learn more below!

We are proud to be the site for the United Methodist Youth Egan Warming Center Emergency Night Shelter. When operating, capacity is 40 people sleeping on mats for youth up to 21 years old.

We regularly prepare nonperishable lunch bags that we serve to our neighbors in need.

We gather personal items for Hope & Safety Alliance to give to people who are in crisis.

We are sponsors of the Orphans, Elderly, Disabled Development Organization Based in Cambodia. OEDDO is an organization that responds with compassion and love to help people in crisis, especially those who are most vulnerable – orphans, elders, and the disabled.

Advocate for a more sustainable Earth. FUMC has partnered with 350 Eugene to advocate for Climate Justice.

We are constantly collecting for Food For Lane County and have volunteered there often. Help us fill our barrels!

Quilts for those who need to know they are cared for are made monthly at FUMC. Join our quilters’ group! Our quilts go all over town to places that give love.

WEEKEND FOOD FOR CESAR CHAVEZ ELEMENTARY FAMILIES

We provide bags of food for families in need at Caesar Chavez Elementary School. We also supply resources for the school as needed.

The Mothers and Children's Medical center of Uganda

A work of love from members of our church, the MCMC of Uganda is a clinic that has only recently opened, and there are lots of opportunities to support their work.  Learn more about MCMC on their page here.  

In spring 2022 we collected over 40 Layette Kits to be given to the Mothers and Children’s Medical Clinic of Uganda.
