2008 Youth Mission Team Pre-trip Covenant

As a Youth Mission Team participant, I agree to the following requirements to be a participant on the summer youth mission team.  I will be accountable to my team members and the congregation by:

-Attending “Be The Change” meetings and activities.  We will meet every first Sunday of the month to learn and discuss social justice issues and then do service projects together. You will be informed in advance of all the “Be The Change” activities.

-Participate in fundraisers and all team meetings.  (If you are unable to attend a meeting, please let Rebecca Macemon know.  Unavoidable excuses only, i.e. family emergency or previous commitment.)

-Maintain a positive attitude during meetings, fundraisers and church activities.  Be present mentally, spiritually and physically. 

-Participate fully in order to share leadership responsibilities among all team members.

I understand that the consequences of breaking the covenant will result in the following plan of action.

1.    warning phone call or letter

2.    face-to-face meeting/check-in

3.    third time — individual will be asked not to attend

I agree to assist my student in following the above guidelines for participation in the youth mission team and to be present and assist at fundraisers.  I realize that there are consequences if my student does not follow the covenant.
