FOOD DRIVE continues . . . "BETTER THAN THE BUS"
Hunger in Oregon made national news last Sunday on the cover of Parade magazine. On the "Fill the Bus" campaign held earlier this year, the Eugene community donated 4738 pounds of food for Food for Lane County. We are going to be "Better than the Bus". 
Beginning next week, Food for Lane County will be regularly collecting our contributions and reporting the weight of our contributions. One barrel averages 250 pounds. Our goal for this year is 5000 pounds - better than the bus. Our current contributions should put us well on our way. Look for our bus and watch as we "fill the bus" one donation at a time. This month the emphasis will be on hearty soups (as in those that look like stews with meat) - but any item is welcome. Please place your items in the barrels in the sanctuary. Thanks for your generosity!!
February Update ~ Great job! We added another 355 pounds of food to our "bus". In honor of February, how about we look for "heart healthy" soups or meals. Of course it will do your heart good no matter what you can contribute.
