NURSERY AND CHILD CARE POLICY FOR OUTSIDE GROUPS

1. Nursery and child care through kindergarten may be available for a fee to outside groups using the church building by arranging through the Director of Christian Education at least two weeks in advance. First United Methodist Church attendant must be employed when our nursery or child care facilities are used.

2.Nursery and child care rules for the safety and well-being of the children:

a.Children who are sick should stay at home.

b.Parents must check in their children with the attendants and check them out again.

Each child needs a name tag.

c.All children’s property must be labeled with his/her name.

d.Any instructions must be in writing with the child’s name on it.

e.Nursery attendants, under no circumstances, will dispense medication to a child.

3.Every effort will be made to maintain a caretaker-child ratio for nursery care of 1:4 and a caretaker-child ratio for child care of 1:6.
