2007 Lake Charles VIM Team
Eugene First United Methodist Church Volunteers In Mission Team Lake Charles, Louisiana June 29 through July 8, 2007
Eighteen souls from First United Methodist Church are enlisting our bodies and spirits in an adventure to Lake Charles, Louisiana to assist in the efforts to rebuild the Gulf Coast from the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We will spend the first week of July working with the United Methodist Committee on Relief to help just a few folks in the area around Lake Charles, Louisiana continue their rebuilding efforts. We believe that God calls us not only to pray for those that have been vicitmized and left behind, but to be God's hands and feet by repairing homes and lives in this mission. This is also a testament to our belief in the United Methodist connectional church that compels us to travel to serve those that are in need at a place far from our home. |
